So I am blogging (again!)
Yep, I am blogging... AGAIN! So when I first started out in tech, I thought it would be a great idea to start a blog, and that is what I did back in 2009(ish). My first blog post I think was about how to export a WLAN profile to an XML file so that you could then mass roll out a WLAN profile to a set of Windows XP and Windows 7 devices! Originally, I started off in WordPress (as everyone does!), but then I quickly moved from WordPress to the Ghost blogging platform back in 2013/2014.
Over the years I added to that blog, as I became more involved with technologies like Hyper-V, Storage/SANs, VMware, Veeam etc. But then back in 2013, I lost the blogging bug as my wife and I had the much (genuine!) joy of a baby 👶 to keep us occupied. I foolishly let my blog slip by the wayside, and I lost my blog as I let the Ghost subscription expire 😭.
Recently, I have been involved with a customer, helping them architect their migration from on-premises VMware to Azure VMware Solution (AVS) as well as getting involved with things like Azure Arc, Azure Sentinel, Azure Defender for Cloud and I have come across some bits and pieces that I have found peculiar that I thought would make an excellent blog post.
Over the last few weeks, I have been trialling WordPress, and whilst it is a very powerful platform for which to have a blogging platform, I am unfortunately not a web developer nor do I have the time to learn the intricacies of how to manage and customise WordPress to how I want it to look. I have therefore decided to go back to the Ghost 👻 blogging platform, which I have been a long-time lover of. I got my current employer to start blogging onto Ghost, and it is such an easy blogging platform to pick up and run with.
So here I am (again!), and Hello World! I am looking forward to getting back into blogging, and I hope to try and create some new articles on a regular cadence. I will mainly focus on Azure (yes I know that is a big area!), M365/Intune, Security and maybe a bit of Apple 🍏 stuff as well!
